Currency Ledger

alameen ERP provides a set of tools and reports that help you set the exchange rates and follow the prices of currencies, including the "Currency Ledger" report.

Report Purpose

The "Currency Ledger" report shows the journal entries of all the accounts, or of a particular account, whether it is a sub, main, or final account, whose entry currency matches the currency set in the report, without converting the currency of the entry to the currency set in the report as the Ledger report does, with several options over a set period. With the option for showing two currencies, you can show the ledger for two currencies, together or each currency separately.

The "Second Currency" field of the report window becomes available after you select the display option "Show Two Currencies".

When you request the report to show the journal entries made in one currency, the report shows the date of the movement, then the account moved in this currency in the journal entry, the previous balance, and the debit or credit value of the movement, then the final balance of the account.

When you request the report to show the journal entries in two set currencies, the report shows the date of the movement, then the account moved in this currency in the journal entry, and a column with the currency of the movement. It also shows the debit and credit values in two columns, each for one of the two set currencies, and you can add more fields to the report with the field list in the preview interface.

Reaching the Report

You can reach the Currency Ledger report from the main ribbon - Accounts tab - Currencies group - the drop-down list of the Currencies button.

Once requested, the report window appears as follows:

The report window contains various fields and options that help you view the details you need.

Report Window

The window lets you set the criteria and data you want the report to show. It includes several main sections, such as the filter fields, the first and second currencies, the various options, and the sources the report is drawn from.
