Pricing Policy

The warehouse often holds several orders of the same material, and the purchase price of these orders may differ. If you set the wholesale profit percent to 10%, for example, how do you want this profit percent to be calculated from the prices of the orders in the warehouse?

The program can follow several sales policies: you set the pricing policy of each material separately in its card, choosing from the following policies:

Actual Price

The "Actual Price" pricing policy means that the figures in the Wholesale, Semi wholesale, Distributor, Export, Retail, and Consumer fields are sale prices, not profit percents (for example, the figure 10 in the Wholesale field is the wholesale sale price, not the wholesale profit percent). So the percent symbols do not appear next to the Wholesale, Semi wholesale... fields when you choose this policy.

Maximum Price

Choosing the maximum price policy for setting the sale price means that the program calculates the profit percent of the material from the highest purchase price of an order in the warehouse.

Average Price

Choosing the "Average Price" policy for setting the sale price means that the program calculates the profit percent from the weighted average of the prices of the orders in the warehouse. For example, if the warehouse holds two orders, the first at a price of 1000 with a quantity of 10, and the second at a price of 1200 with a quantity of 30, the weighted average price is:

(1000×10)+(1200×30)30+10=1150 \frac{(1000 \times 10) + (1200 \times 30)}{30 + 10} = 1150

Last Purchase Price

The "Last Purchase Price" pricing policy means that the program calculates the profit percent from the last purchase price of the material.

Default Price

The pricing policy you set in the Program Options window - Default Values tab, which is one of the three previous policies (Maximum, Average, Last Purchase). Choosing the "Default Price" pricing policy in the material card means that the program applies the default pricing policy.

Tip

These policies are ready-made suggestions the program offers for choosing the sale price in a sales invoice; they are not mandatory, so you can put the price you want in the sale price field.

info

When you work with percentages, the total value of the materials in invoices may not be a whole number, that is, it may include fractions. In this case, you can use the "Modify Materials Prices" tool to get rid of the fractions and get whole values.
