Understanding Cards and Basic Data

Cards are the starting point in alameen ERP 10. Before you enter any invoice or entry, the basic entities you will deal with must be defined in the program.

Material Card

An example of one of the basic cards that daily transactions in the program are built on.

What Should You Understand Here?

  • Cards are the records that daily entry relies on.
  • Invoices, entries, and reports do not work correctly without correct cards.
  • Not everything in the cards section is needed from day one; it is enough to start with the basics.

The Minimum You Usually Need

  • At least one warehouse.
  • The materials you will buy or sell.
  • The customers and suppliers you will deal with.
  • The accounts related to the business.

How Do You Decide What to Define First?

If the business is starting from scratch, start with the entities that will appear in the first actual invoice, that is:

  1. The warehouse.
  2. The material.
  3. The customer or supplier.
  4. The accounts that will receive the resulting entries.

What Can You Postpone for Now?

At the start, you can postpone the specialized or less used cards, such as the cards of additional systems or fine customizations, until after the basic cycle is running.
