Defining the First Warehouse
The warehouse is where quantities come in and go out, so do not start entering materials or invoices before defining a clear, correct warehouse.

The warehouse card is the real starting point for every later stock movement.
What Is Enough at the Start?
To create a first working warehouse, focus only on the following fields:
- The code.
- The name.
- The warehouse type: normal.
- The main warehouse, if you use a hierarchical structure.
When Do You Use a Collective Warehouse?
You do not need a collective warehouse at the start unless you have more than one warehouse and want to group them under one view. For the first run, start with a normal warehouse only.
Early Practical Decisions
- Give the warehouse a clear name that reflects its actual use.
- If you have only one branch, do not overbuild a complex warehouse structure.
- Do not create temporary or test warehouses in the real file without a clear reason.
Before Moving on to the Next Step
Make sure the warehouse you created is the same one you will use in:
- The opening inventory.
- The purchase invoice.
- The sales invoice.
